One of the contestants who
looked frail at the start of the show, gradually got worse though part one. Each time it
was his turn to answer the question he got more nervous and very shaky. We managed to get
him to the commercial break at the end of part one and we rushed him off to hospital. I
was worried that he might be having a heart attack. Fortunately for the show he didn't win
part one and he decided he would take the money he had won and drop out of the game. I'm
pleased to say he returned home from hospital the next day, not suffering with heart
trouble, but stress from appearing on television in front of a live audience. I have
found memories of Bullseye, Jim, Tony, Andy, Norman, Bully and some of happiest moments in
my thirty five years of working in television. Bullseye is a great show. How Jim got away
with his rehearsal performance is beyond me. It was one hell of a laugh. |
